Parks and Recreation
Residents need travel no further than the modern, $15 million clubhouse and recreation center to enjoy leisure time pleasures. Athletes are well-served by multiple soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, a lacrosse field and a skateboard park.
The pools are definitely a key part of the community's recreation facilities, and they cater to a wide variety of interests. The Loggerhead Swim Team was established in 2008 with a vision of developing world-class athletes and citizens. The Masters Swimming Team is an outgrowth of the Loggerhead squad. Competitive swimmers, triathletes and fitness swimmers at least 18 years old are eligible to participate. Each practice features a customized, detailed workout.
Residents can select from a variety of swim lessons as well. Children two years of age and above are eligible for semi-private and private lessons. Parent/child lessons are another popular option. Group swim lessons are available to children that are at least three years old on the last day of class. Children progress through four levels by demonstrating the requisite skills required at the preceding level.
Aquatics fitness classes include options like Aqua Zumba, Deep Water Aerobics and Shallow Water Aerobics. Aqua Boot Camp is available to those ready to embrace high energy training.
Attractions and Activities
With the St. John's River just to the west and the intracoastal waterway just to the east, residents can enjoy the water other ways as well. The development also has its own marina, replete with a restaurant with wonderful water views.
In addition to all the water-based activities, the community offers golfers the opportunity to play the Julington Creek Golf Club. The semi-private layout challenges golfers of all skill levels with tree-lined fairways and ample bunkering. The par-72 course plays at 6,872 yards from the longest tees.
